  • Feel your feelings. Don't bottle them up! Allow yourself to grieve the end of the relationship and express your emotions in a healthy way.  Talk to a friend, cry it out, write in a journal - whatever helps you process.

  • Cut contact (if needed). This can be hard, but going no-contact with your ex can give you the space you need to heal.   Avoid texting, calling, and stalking their social media.

  • Lean on your support system. Surround yourself with friends and family who love you and can offer encouragement.  Talking to a therapist can also be a great way to gain perspective and healthy coping mechanisms.

  • Practice self-care. Breakups can take a toll, so prioritize your well-being.  Eat healthy foods, get enough sleep, and exercise regularly.  Take a relaxing bath, read a good book, or do something else that makes you feel good.

  • Rediscover yourself. This is a chance to reconnect with yourself and your passions.   Pursue hobbies you've neglected, take a class, or try something new. Remember, you were whole before the relationship, and you'll be whole again after.
